Vice president Dr. Mahmudu Bawumia has told Members of Parliament of the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) that the majority is won at the polling

Vice president Dr. Mahmudu Bawumia has told Members of Parliament of the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) that the majority is won at the polling station level and not in Chambers.

Addressing party supporters at Ho central in the Volta region, the flagbearer of the NPP said the NDC is desperate for power knowing perfectly that the December elections would be difficult for them to win.

“The NDC knows that they are losing this election, they know that we are winning this election, so they are panicking. Just think about it, we have six weeks to an election and their only concern is that they want to be a Majority for six weeks, when you have been a Minority for eight years. What is the rush? Because they know they have lost the election, and they want to taste a Majority position for six weeks,” Dr Bawumia teased.

He assured the people of Volta region that he will account for his deeds after four when voted for but his opponent (former president John Mahama) who has no second term would mismanage the economy and leave without giving account.

“If you look at Ghana, this election two of us, Dr Bawumia and the former President. The former President can only be president for four years, when you vote for him, you won’t see him again. He is going on honeymoon and then retirement, you won’t see him again”, he noted.

He explained further that he will work harder and make sure the economy is on track because he will seek re-election after his first term.

Ghanaians have witnessed an ongoing drama between the NPP and NDC side in parliament where both sides are claiming Majority.

The Speaker on October 17 declared four seats in parliament as vacant but the Supreme Court intervened and directed the Speaker to allow the four MPs to continue representing their constituents until a final decision is arrived at.
