The interrogator, who introduced himself as Alexander Twum-Barimah, Deputy Director General of the Narcotics Control Commission (NCC), said that he was interested in learning more about Abu Trica's line of work.

A video currently circulating on social media about Ghanaian socialite, Frederick Kumi, popularly known as Abu Trica captures the accused finding it hard to respond to questions posed by interrogators who arrested him in his residence together with another individual.

The interrogator, who introduced himself as Alexander Twum-Barimah, Deputy Director General of the Narcotics Control Commission (NCC), said that he was interested in learning more about Abu Trica’s line of work.

“What work do you do?”, Twum-Barimah quizzes.

Abu Trica was not forthcoming with an accurate answer making frivolous statements that he has not been involved in any transactional fraud or whatsoever if that is the basis for his arrest.

Twum-Barimah subsequently directed the suspects’ focus to the point that his interest does not lie in any transactions; rather, he seeks to understand the nature of the work he does.

“Just answer the question I am asking you. What work do you do? I’ve told you my position and the kind of work I do so I’m also inquiring about the work you also do”.

However, the Swedru-based fraudster who could tell the exact work he does opted for his lawyer to answer the question on his behalf.

Abu Trica has been indicted for allegedly helping defraud elderly Americans of over $8 million through romance scams since 2023.

He was accused of using AI-generated identities to form fake online relationships, gain victims’ trust, and solicit money for fabricated emergencies, travel, or investments.

He has since been flown to the U.S. to stand trial.
