
Former Vice-President of the erstwhile Akufo-Addo’s government, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has rendered an unqualified apology to Ghanaians on behalf of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for mistakes the party committed.
The 2024 presidential candidate of the NPP called on the good people of Ghana to forgive the NPP for the mistakes it committed during their 8 years in office. He emphasized that the NPP has learned from its mistakes and are ready to make amends when given another opportunity.
Speaking at an event in London, Bawumia acknowledged the impact of some of the good policies and initiatives the party took while in government which brought good results, while he also accepted that there were some notable mistakes.
“The NPP did a lot of work, there’s no doubt about that, but we did not get everything right.
We got quite a few things wrong, and I think that, on my own behalf, on behalf of the party and the government, I apologise to all of you for us not getting the things right that we should have gotten”, he said.
He promised that the NPP party has recognized it shortfalls and are ready to live up to expectations when give the mandate to govern the country.
“I believe that if by the grace of God, we have another opportunity I believe that we will get many things right, because we have learnt the lessons of where we are going,” he added.
