The family head Kofi Owusu who is now known as Abusapanyin Tupac has boldly confirmed that the funeral date for Daddy Lumba is on the 13th of this month despite disagreements from some family members.

Following a visit to the Manhyia Palace on December 8, Tupac noted that the chiefs in attendance endorsed the arrangements, despite the absence of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for a meeting.

“We made a deliberate effort to meet Otumfuo, but he was unable to see us. However, the elders and chiefs told me to proceed with organizing the funeral,” he said in an interview with Zionfelix.

“Come what may, he will be laid to rest on December 13,” Owusu stated.

The Akosua Serwaa faction has contested this arrangement indicating that the Asantehene has yet to grant approval for the burial.

It is believed that another meeting is set for December 11.

Owusu took to social media to assert his authority, stating, “Whatever I say is final, so the burial is on December 13, 2025. I have been entrusted by the chiefs to organize the funeral ceremony.”

Family tensions persist, yet preparations for the funeral on December 13 are said to be in progress.
