Multiple Award-winning journalist, Captain Smart, has emphatically stated that Ashanti Regional Chairman of the opposition NPP, Chairman Wontumi, may face imprisonment due to his derogatory comments about President John Mahama under the erstwhile Akufo-Addo’s government.
He observed the posture of Bernard Antwi Bosiako during the NPP era to be that of an arrogant person who likes bragging and acted in a way as if he pays Otumfuor Osei Tutu II a monthly wage.
“He talks as if he pays Otumfuor a monthly salary and urinates crude oil for the country to use and if he doesn’t urinate, the whole country will be in shortage of petrol and diesel.”
His assertion comes after operatives from the National Security stormed the residence of the NPP stalwart to make an arrest but they were blocked by NPP supporters in the Ashanti Region.
Chairman Wontumi after the incident granted an interview on his media station Wontumi FM and bemoaned the inhumane treatment meted out to him on a daily basis by the government in power. He subsequently noted that he will report himself to the security agencies in the country for his own sanity.
In response to Wontumi’s comment, Captain Smart, an ardent critic of the Akufo-Addo administration has intensified calls from the immediate arrest and prosecution of Bernard Antwi Bosiako for his derogatory remarks about President John Dramamni Mahama.
Wontumi together with his lawyers and supporters of the NPP reported himself to the Ghana Police Service for questioning.
He has been said to have participated in a dubious transaction during the previous administration, which has incurred substantial financial losses for the state, leading to subsequent confrontations with state security services.
