
Ghanaian highlife and afrobeat singer, Gregory Bortey Newman, known by his stage name as King Promise won the Artiste of the Year at the just ended Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs).
The “terminator” hit maker stood tall amongst other musicians such as Stonebwoy, King Paluta, Black Sherrif, Kwaku Smoke, Joe Mettle, and Team Eternity who were in the same category to grab the ultimate award in this year’s Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs).
He won three other awards namely, Best AfroPop Song, Best Afropop/Afribeats Song, Album/EP of the Year. So in all, King Promise won four awards.
This is the first time King Promise has won the Artiste of the Year award.
