The Police has arrested a man, Michael Allotey, who is an NDC agent for possession of weapon at the St Theresa School polling station in the Okaikwei South Constituency.
Allotey was taken into custody after an altercation with an Electoral Commission official in the ongoing elections.
The incident occurred after Michael Allotey confronted the EC Official to ccomplete the pink sheets for sections A and B before commencing the elections.
Eyewitness report revealed that the EC ofiicial dismissed Allotey’s assertion indicating that the NDC agent cannot dictate to him on how he should discharge his duties. It led to verbal exchanges where tempers were calmed down by onlookers.
Although the situation returned to normal at the polling station, the police were notified of the disturbance. They arrived and arrested Allotey after discovering he was in posseong of a weapon.
Allotey is in custody assisting in investigation.
