A young man believed to be in his 30s has has beheaded his girlfriend on the grounds of infidelity.
The unfortunate incident occurred at Diaso in the Upper Denkyira West District in the Central region.
Reliable information disclosed that the jealous boyfriend committed the heinous crime after finding out his girlfriend (name withheld) was having multiple affairs.
The boyfriend bolted after committing the crime. Residents say they last saw the two together on January 9.
After not hearing from the deceased for sometime, the friends of the lady rushed to the house of the boyfriend to make enquiries about her whereabouts.
They met the lifeless body of their friend lying in a pool of blood with a disfigured face due to multiple knife stabs on the neck and face.
The deceased is believed to be a Northerner and according to information gathered, she has been in relationship with the culprit for a year now.
The incident has heightened tension in the community despite attempts by the police to calm down tempers.
Diaso has lately been in the headlines for murder-related incidents. Quite a number of people were murdered last year at Diaso for ritual purposes.
This marks the second instance of two young women being murdered over cheating in the region since the beginning of the year.
The body has been sent to Dunkwa On-Offin District Government Hospital for autopsy and preservation.
The perpetrator of the crime is yet to be apprehended.
