
The Minister for Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku, has noted that plans are advanced for all earth-moving machines acquired through the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) to be utilized for the construction of farm roads nationwide.
According to the Sector Minister, fuel will be provided for all districts to effectively operate the DRIP machines.
Mr. Opoku while addressing journalists in Kumasi on Sunday June 15th stated that major road construction in all rural areas shall be halted for the intended purpose of the DRIP Machines.
Explaining further, he emphasized that the government has allocated funds to be provided to all district assemblies to fuel the machines and construct accessible roads for farm inputs to be transported safely to communities without any difficulty.
Mr. Opoku revealed during the media engagement that some officials were making plans to award road contracts but he managed to stop them for this important exercise.
