Justin Kodua, the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has pleaded with Ghanaians to let go of any misgivings they have about the erstwhile Akufo-Addo’s administration promising of a goodwill towards the citizenry when given the nod in future polls.

While acknowledging the shortcomings of the previous administration, he affirmed the party’s commitment to implementing changes to its governance system when they are given another opportunity.

His comments come at a time the NPP party is preparing to host its delegates conference and is also engaged in the process of implementing constitutional reforms. The conference is expected to take place on July 19 while the party’s presidential primary is scheduled to come off on January 31, 2026. The NPP leadership has consistently maintained that the party is prioritizing internal restructuring as a strategy for regaining public support.

Mr. Kodua highlighted the party’s endeavors to offer Ghanaians the best form of governance, but, he admitted there were unimaginable challenges.

“We made every effort as a political party, but we were unable to achieve perfection,” he stated. “I have consistently maintained that we, on behalf of our political party and the government that was in power at the time, regret certain actions that were not executed correctly.”

He expressed the party’s readiness to learn from its previous mistakes and rectify them, positioning it on a course for improvement.
