
Dancehall artist Shatta Wale has mounted a spirited defence for his close friend, Kofi Boat, who is currently awaiting extradition to the US to face charges of transactional fraud and romance scams.
Shatta Wale said during a TikTok live stream that Kofi Boat has not defrauded anyone as speculated by the media. However, his buddy had a business partnership deal which was unsuccessful hence his recent predicament.
He affirmed that Kofi Boat only engages legit business deals.
“The majority of you are unaware of Kofi Boat’s identity; consequently, he is being referred to as a fraudster due to his recent legal troubles. There is no issue. All of us on this planet will be judged by God. Are you referring to Kofi Boat as a scammer? God, you occasionally place us in challenging circumstances that we are unable to articulate to the general public. However, I am confident that your purpose is to demonstrate to the public that Kofi Boat is not a con man.”
He revealed that the arrest of the businessman has had a profound impact on him and sent his deepest sympathies to Joyce, spouse of Kofi Boat, and their kids.

The suspect, purportedly the kingpin of a criminal enterprise in Ghana, has been apprehended as part of an ongoing investigation by Interpol and the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), in conjunction with the Ministry of Interior, and is awaiting transfer to the United States to face charges related to fraud and money laundering.
Kofi Boat was arrested on Friday June 13 along with two accomplices for purportedly engaging in romance scams and transactional fraud. Meanwhile, Patrick Asare a fourth suspect evaded arrest and is currently on the run. The three were presented before a magistrate court and have been held in police custody awaiting extradition proceedings to the United States.
