The United States targeted three critical Iranian nuclear facilities—Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan—in an effort to incapacitate the nation’s nuclear arsenal amid the ongoing confrontation between Iran and Israel.

President Donald Trump, in announcing the severity of the airstrikes, asserted that Iran’s nuclear facilities have been completely destroyed; however, Iranian officials refuted these claims, contending that the strikes inflicted minimal damage on the country’s nuclear plants and that no radioactive contamination occurred.

The United States deployed B-2 stealth bombers and Tomahawk missiles to strike locations essential to Iran’s nuclear program.

Trump issued a stern warning to Iran to engage in peace negotiations to address the situation with Israel, threatening additional strikes if peace was not immediately restored.

Iran continued with airstrikes despite the warnings by Trump launching a ballistic missile attack at Israel wounding 10 to 16 people in the process, according to Israeli authorities.

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi of Iran has spoken out against the US attack, saying that his country will respond in due time.

The war which has entered it 9th day began with Israel attacking the nuclear facilities of Iran on 13th June, 2025 with the sole purpose of destroying the facilities.

The U.S. engagement has ignited internal controversy, with certain Republicans, including Senators Lindsey Graham and Ted Cruz, endorsing the attacks, while Democrats, including as House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, condemned Trump for circumventing Congress and endangering a wider conflict. The diminished capabilities of Iran’s proxies, like Hezbollah and Hamas, constrain its retaliatory alternatives; nonetheless, threats from Iranian-aligned factions, such as Yemen’s Houthis, indicate possible assaults on U.S. interests.
