Suspended Chief Justice, Gertrude Araba Esaaba Sackey Torkornoo, has criticized the process seeking her removal describing it as unfair and infringes on her human rights.

During a media address on Wednesday, June 25th, Justice Gertrude Torkornoo revealed her intention to remain in office despite intense pressure for her resignation and threats of harm against her.

She stressed that accepting to step down at this crucial moment will serve as a precedent and also become the norm of the day and perhaps normalize a situation where any public official may face the same fate when political dynamics shift.
