Japhet Boateng Kyei, an AICO II of the Ghana Immigration Service, was fatally hit by a speeding vehicle and died on the spot according to media reports.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Saturday, July 19, 2025, in close proximity to the Accra Arts Centre.
Officer Kyei had parked his car and crossed the road to assist a motorist whose vehicle had developed a fault.
After assisting the driver to get his car back on track and leaving the scene, he endeavored to return to his own vehicle.
However, he was seriously crashed by a Hyundai Veloster with a DV plate, DV 9050Y-25.
The officer gave up the ghost on the spot since the impact was fatal.
The driver of the Hyundai Veloster has been arrested by the police. Reportedly, a full-scale inquiry into the incident has been initiated by the police.
