A staunch leading figure in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko, has shown keen interest in the party’s Chairmanship position after declaring his intention to contest in the upcoming primary.
The Former Energy Minister revealed in a statement that the decision was arrived at after an extensive consultation with friends, family and critical assessment of his capabilities to achieve greater success for NPP.
“I have had consultations with members of my family and those who are very close to me, and whose lives would be most affected by the decisions I make,” he noted.
He observed that calls from both internal and external sources has significantly influenced his decision-making process. “I have also considered the perspectives of the broad masses within our party, as well as those from outside our party, regarding their expectations of me,” he said.
He acknowledged the move as not merely a decision for personal benefit, but as a necessary step to realign the party’s objectives in a more favorable direction.
