The Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has sent a heartfelt message to the families of the 15 individuals who perished in a boat accident on Volta Lake near Kete Krachi in the Oti Region.
The Ghana Maritime Authority confirmed the deaths, including 11 children. According to reports, the unfortunate incident took place on Saturday October, 11 at approximately 1:30 PM.
In a Facebook post dated October13, she conveyed the government’s support for the families and loved ones impacted by the sad development.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic boat accident on the Volta Lake near Kete Krachi that has claimed the lives of 15 people, including 11 children,” portion of the statement read.
