Ashanti Regional Communications Director for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Kwabena Yandoh, has alleged that the personal belongings of Benard Antwi Bosiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi has been seized by the current government following the ongoing legal battle with the state.

Speaking on Ade Akye Abia on November 7 with Kwame Nkrumah Tikese on Okay Fm, he claimed that Wontumi’s choice to wear jeans and t-shirts to court is due to the seizure of his Kaftan clothes, shoes, and gold necklace.

“Wontumi has been going to court in jeans and t-shirts. This is not how he used to dress. All of his kaftan clothes and half shoes have all been seized and look how he now dresses when going to court. It is very bad”, he bemoaned.

He narrated that the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP has been subjected to inhumane treatment following his alleged involvement in illegal mining activities during the erstwhile Akufo-Addo’s administration.

“The NDC government has targeted Wontumi and have devised strategies to make life a loving hell for him”.

Kwabena Yandoh further criticized the Mahama led administration highlighting its failure to put an end to the galamseymenace. This issue was a key promise made to Ghanaians ahead of the 2024 elections, a commitment that resonated with voters and earned him their trust to lead the nation.

“Before the 2024 elections, you told us that you will be end illegal mining when you become president but the canker has become worse under your leadership. You have just singled one person (Chairman Wontumi) out to disgrace him for reasons best known to you. This is not fair.”
