Private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu has been taken into custody by officers from the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) according to his lawyers.

This incident left investigators with no chance to question him about his alleged statements implicating the Special Prosecutor of corruption.

Kpebu, upon his arrival to have an engagement with officials from the OPS, allegedly had a confrontation with officers from the Ghana Police Service at the entrance and was subsequently detained before any procedure could take place.

Reports indicate that due to the incidents, the Special Prosecutor could not have a fruitful meeting with Kepbu.

Bail was granted and as everything was expected to return to normal, only for his lawyers to return to meet their client missing.

The incident occurs against a backdrop of persistent tensions between Kpebu and the Special Prosecutor, characterized by the lawyer’s consistent critiques of the OSP’s investigative methods. He has raised concerns regarding procedural lapses within the office and the delegation of inquiries to junior officers who report directly to Mr. Agyebeng.

The OSP is yet to provide any commentary regarding Kpebu’s detention. It has been indicated by various sources that his release may occur later this evening.
