Educational sector workers have received their December 2025 salary in addition to their delayed allowances according to a statement by the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD).

The department acknowledged yesterday that the payments were made last Tuesday, even though they had previously predicted that the overdue allowances would be disbursed together with December salary on Wednesday.

In November of this year, the Controller admitted in a statement that it was unable to process allowances for two categories of education sector workers because of a technical issue.

The agency said that processing of the concerned education sector allowances was temporarily stopped in order to ensure that all personnel of the Government of Ghana would not have their November wages disrupted.

In an effort to avoid a repeat, the CAGD has apologized for the trouble this has created and has promised to make payroll processing more efficient. Additionally, it expressed gratitude to the impacted employees for bearing with them throughout the wait.

A technological issue was found during the last payroll run, prompting the CAGD to notify last month that two categories of education sector payments would be delayed starting from November 2025.
