The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has confirmed that the first batch of two thousand (2000) recruits will commence training after the successful conclusion of its nationwide recruitment process.
In a statement released Tuesday March 17, the GAF noted that the first batch of recruits are among four batches selected for training this year.
The statement, which was signed by Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin, indicated that successful applicants are to report at the various selection centres across the 16 regions of Ghana for their appointment letters and prospectus on Wednesday, March 18.
Applicants who were dropped due to their medical conditions are encouraged to seek medical care as they would be invited at a later date with no cost involved.
18 applicants who got injured during the stampede at the El-Wak stadium last year were considered in the first batch selection.
Additionally, the families of the five individuals who lost their lives in the El-Wak stampede have chosen their replacements.
The selection procedure for the other batches is still underway, the Armed Forces said, assuring candidates who were not chosen in the first batch to remain calm.
