Reggae Dancehall artist, Stonebwoy has addressed Shatta Wale’s suggestions for collaboration amongst artists aimed at elevating Ghana’s music industry to global standards.

Shatta Wale made a surprise appearance at Kweku Smoke’s Electric Brixton in London which took place May 29 seizing the opportunity to advocate for peace and unity while expressing that the ongoing rivalry within the music space is detrimental to portraying a positive image of musicians, underscoring the urgent need for change.

He argued that the industry’s excessive rivalry makes things dangerous and creates an unhealthy environment for artists.

“I believe it is essential to focus on educating others about our actions. I feel that my mindset has shifted because I have a desire to create. If he (Stonebwoy) also wants to build, we should unite and create something together,” Shatta Wale expressed.

He expressed his desire to witness leading Ghanaian artists such as himself, Stonebwoy and Sarkodie touring and performing collectively on larger stages globally.

However, responding to such assertions, Stonebwoy seriously kicked against the claims suggested by Shatta Wale.

He observed that the recent comments and collaboration between Shatta Wale and Sarkodie at Kweku Smoke’s show seem staged, tweeting that the conversation about unity are not genuine but rather aimed at garnering public sympathy and support.

In a tweet, Stonebwoy expressed his skepticism towards the statements made by Shatta Wale, stressing a perceived discrepancy between his preached virtues and his actual practices.

He tweeted; “These 2 guys have been faking to each other based on interests and timing. Convenient friendship.  Even the devil hates that..”
