The Vice President of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang Mangue, has cautioned state civil servants participating in any sexual activities at their workplace, following the circulation of viral video recordings of Baltasar Engonga online.
The videotapes surfaced on the internet subsequent to an inquiry conducted by ANIF investigators, during which the residence and personal office of Baltasar were inspected. The officials discovered many CDs that revealed his sexual encounters with different ladies.
His sexcapades include high profile women such as the sister of the President of Equatorial Guinea, the Director General of Police’s wife, and about 20 of the country’s ministers’ wives, among others.
The tapes filmed in his office were approved by the individuals involved, and have subsequently been leaked online.
Engonga is the head of Equatorial Guinea’s Financial Investigation Agency. He is a relative of the country’s president.
Reacting to the leaked tapes, Baltasar indicated that it is AI produced.
“I can attest all those videos are all aided by use of Artificial intelligence (AI). I am faithful 💯 to my beautiful wife of many years and my six kids and the unborn one,” he tweeted.
The Vice President has stated that officials engaged in any sexual behavior at work will be suspended, as it is a violation of the code of conduct.
He has also ordered the installation of CCTV cameras in all governmental agencies to mitigate such uncivilized behaviors.
A statement from Mangue’s office indicates that the decision was made in response to the widely circulated leaked videos that have tarnished the country’s image. He had requested for an investigation to be opened into the leaked videos.
Vice President Mangue last week directed telecommunication companies to curb the spread of the ‘leak tape’ that is fast spreading on the internet and since then, the speed of download has reduced drastically.
