Felix Afena Gyan, Abdul Salis Samed, and Kwame Opoku are among six players who have been called back to the Black Stars team for the Unity Cup in London.
Afena Gyan was out of action for the Black Stars after his friendly match with the team where they played Brazil in September, 2022, while Samed was also named in the final list despite a prolonged injury that contributed to him not getting much playing time.
Also, Kwame Opoku has been very impressive with his performance after netting 10 goals in 18 matches. Opoku has missed multiple call-ups and was last seen participating for the team during the 2021 World Cup qualifier against South Africa in Johannesburg. This will be his fourth appearance for the Black stars.
Stephan Ambrosius, a centre-back for St. Gallen has been named in the final list. He made his debut for the country in a friendly match against Liberia in 2023.
The Black Stars are expected to play with Nigeria on May 28 in the first fixture. The winner will meet either Jamaica or Trinidad and Tobago in the final while the loser will fight for 3rd place.
