The funeral rites for the esteemed Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, brought together distinguished political leaders and dignitaries at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi to pay their final respect to the late Queenmother of Asanteman.
This includes, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen founder and leader of Movement for Change, former Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Former MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, New Force founder, Nana Kwame Bediako amongst others. They arrived with their entourage, made donations, and expressed their heartfelt sympathies to Asantewura for such a big loss.
The event also featured the participation of President John Dramani Mahama, alongside former Presidents Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and John Agyekum Kufuor. Additionally, international guests were present, including Eswatini’s Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini and Deputy Prime Minister Senator Thulisile Dladla.
The late Queen Mother will be buried in Breman Abusuakruwa’s royal mausoleum.
The final funeral rite is scheduled to take place from 7pm on Thursday September 18 as no outside movement will be permitted to pave way for the somber burial.
