Saani Abaacha, a welder has butchered to death a 16-year-old tricycle rider, Kwabena Boakye at Aduman, a community in the Afigya Kwabre District of the Ashanti Region.
Saani allegedly lured Kwabena and two of his friends, one known as Kwame to a bush under the guise of hiring them to cart firewood he had gathered.
When they were out of town, the suspect launched a machete attack on Kwame before pursuing Kwabena to butcher him when he was trying to escape.
Prior to the attack, Saani had sent one of Kwabena ‘s friends to buy him a drink in town while they were few meters away in the bush leaving the victims behind.
Kwame survived the attack and later narrated what transpired but Kwabena succumbed to his injuries in the bush and died.
Saani reportedly stole the tricycle and gave it to one Eric AKA ‘Mafia’ to sell it for him at Ghc3,500 to enable him abscond.
Mafia, however refused to send him the money even after several phone calls.
Police later smoked out Saani from his hideout at Kumasi Asafo. He is currently in Police custody assisting in investigations.
According to reliable sources, Abacha’s family house located at Aduman Old Town has been burnt down by angry residents.
