A tricycle rider, Yaw Afriyie, also known as Batman, has tragically taken the lives of his wife and six children by setting them on fire in Breman-Dunkwa, located in the Central Region.
Reports indicate that the tricycle rider is said to have committed the act after a feud with his wife.
At approximately 12am on October 31, 2025, Afriyie allegedly requested his wife to check on their sleeping children.
Upon her entry into the room, he is said to have burnt his wife and children, including his grandchild, with petrol.
Further investigations revealed that he locked the door and committed the heinous crime making it difficult for his spouse to get out of the fire with the children.
Afriyie reportedly took his own life by hanging himself after the act.
Police has commenced investigations into the matter.
