Ghana's Cement Manufacturing Development Committee has revealed 13 out of 15 cement companies have made efforts to adjust cement prices.

Ghana’s Cement Manufacturing Development Committee (CMDC), has revealed that 13 out of 15 cement producing companies have made efforts to adjust cement prices.

According to the committee which is under the Ghana Statistical Services, the 13 companies adhered to the mandatory ex-factory price declaration for May 2025.

These companies include, GHACEM, CIMAF, CBI, Diamond Cement, Empire Cement, Kumasi Cement, Savanna Diamond Cement, and Western Diamond Cement, Dangote Cement, Safe Cement (Xin An Safe Cement Ghana Ltd), SOL Cement (Wan Heng Ghana Ltd), Bright Cement, and Powercem (Africa Cement Factory Ltd)

Companies that followed the directives would be disclosed publicly, according to the committee chairman Professor Alex Dodoo, while those that did not would face legal consequences.

The announcement, which was made under Regulation 3(1) of L.I. 2491, is part of continuous efforts to keep cement prices stable and affordable.

The cost of 32.5R cement for May ranges from GHc93.89 to GHc105, with an average price of GHc97.7 across 12 producing companies.

Also the pricing range for 42.5R is GHc105 to GHc127, with GHc109 being the average price among ten companies manufacturing this grade.

Prof. Dodoo said again that the committee is committed to making sure that prices are fair for consumers. He further disclosed that the next price announcement is scheduled on June 28, 2025.

The Chairman of the CMDC added that the disclosed pricing would be posted on the GSA website, the websites of the manufacturing companies, and in the Daily Graphic to make sure that Ghanaians are adequately informed. He mentioned that these changes would take effect on June 28th, the next pricing window.
