The Offinso Circuit Court has sentenced 3 armed robbers to 75 years in prison for robbery and conspiracy to commit crime with each person taking one-third of the full jail term.
The 3 armed attacked a truck driver and his mate at Asampanaye along the Kumasi-Techiman Highway on September 23, 2025.
They made away with Samsung A24 Ultra smartphone valued at GH¢14,000, an Itel phone worth GH¢400, an Itel keypad phone valued at GH¢100, cash of GH¢140, and two bags containing personal belongings.
However, luck eluded them as the youth of the town swiftly arrested them and handed them over to the police with the retrieval of the stolen items.
The convicts, Nasiaru Abdul-Malik, 22, Solomon Kwaku Annor Clinton, 23, and Hakeem Ibrahim, 20, pleaded guilty to the charges and based on their plea, they were each handed a 25 years prison sentence.
“The accused persons pleaded guilty simpliciter to the charges of conspiracy to commit robbery and robbery. Based on their own pleas, the court convicted and sentenced them as follows..
Nasiru Abdul-Malik -10 years II1L for conspiracy and 15 years 1I1L for robbery, Solomon Kwaku Annor Clinton – 10 years IHL for conspiracy and 15 years IHL for robbery, Hakeem Ibrahim -10 years IL for conspiracy and 15 years I1IL for robbery. All sentence are to run concurently”, the statement read.
