The Ministry of Education has revealed that the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) Resolution Centre, which commenced operations on Friday, September 18, 2025, is actively resolving placement-related concerns for candidates nationwide.

The statement which was issued by the Public Relations Unit of the Ministry noted that about 564,000 out of 590,390 qualified candidates have been successfully placed in Senior High Schools and Technical Institutes.

However, the statement noted that there are still some concerns with some parents requesting for change of schools from Category ‘B’ and ‘C’ schools to Category ‘A’ schools with over 1000 requests.

The Ministry articulated that several factors are evaluated prior to candidates being afforded their category selection, including ‘raw scores, available vacancies, and competition levels.’ It underscored that, in certain instances, even high-performing students may not secure their preferred schools when considering all the aforementioned criteria.

It further said that candidates’ residence cannot be changed but considerations might be given to those with health related problems and family relocation cases.

Additionally, students who have not yet been placed are encouraged to use the self-placement option, which has been successful in placing approximately 70% of candidates who have utilized the procedure.
