The Ghana Education Service (GES) has suspended Mfo Richard Tibetor, a male tutor at Okadjakrom Senior High Technical School in the Oti Region of Ghana, due to allegations of sexual misconduct.
A video that has been circulating on social media captures Mr. Tibetor making out with a female student.
In a statement, the service has indicated that full investigation into the matter has commenced.
GES characterized the teacher’s conduct as “unacceptable, unethical, and a clear violation of the professional code of conduct for teachers.” Consequently, Mr. Tibetor has been formally restricted and is not permitted to access the school premises.
GES has reiterated its commitment to parents, guardians, and the wider community of ensuring the safety and protection of all students.
“Any teacher found culpable of acts that compromise the dignity and wellbeing of students will face the full rigours of the law in accordance with the GES Code of Conduct”, portion of the statement read.
