
Chinese President Xi Jinping has affirmed his dedication to an expanded collaboration with Ghana, suggesting that a more robust relationship between the two nations may lead to a resilient China-Africa community with a collective future in the new era.
During a bilateral meeting at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Xi Jinping shared these remarks with Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama, who is attending the Global Leaders’ Meeting on Women.
He observed that this year signifies the 65th anniversary of the relationship between China and Ghana, highlighting the positive rapport established by former leaders of both nations, which has continued to strengthen over the years.
He stressed the need for China and Ghana to work together to implement the outcomes of the Beijing Summit, explore various cooperation frameworks, and enhance partnerships in sectors like mining, energy, infrastructure, agriculture, and fisheries, thereby promoting high-quality bilateral development. He disclosed the importance of joint support for the Global Governance Initiative.
Xi expressed optimism that Ghana will benefit from China’s zero-tariff initiative, covering all 53 African nations with diplomatic relations with China.
While delivering his speech, Mahama emphasized the importance of the Global Leaders’ Meeting on Women, highlighting China’s role in promoting women’s advancement on a global scale.
