Samuel Nartey George, Ghana's Minister of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation, has praised a partnership agreement with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and expressed his strong belief that it will transform Ghana's digitalization.

Samuel Nartey George, Ghana’s Minister of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation, has praised a partnership agreement with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and expressed his strong belief that it will transform Ghana’s digitalization.

He described the landmark deal as a step in the right direction with the potential of making Ghana a leading continental hub for innovation, technology and digital transformation. And to also position the country to become a leading hub in Artificial intelligence (AI) in virtual reality and augmented reality.

The agreement is expected to boost economic growth, strengthen the good relationship between Ghana and UAE and create employment opportunities.

“This hub will create a space where investment meets ingenuity, where the creativity of Ghana’s youth is matched with opportunities to try, and where advanced technologies are developed, deployed and exported,” the Minister said.

The partnership between Ghana and UAE’s Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC), focuses on establishing a technological hub in the Sub-Saharan African region.

If the partnership materializes, it will be a starting point for Global Tech guantd to grow their businesses in Africa.

The MoU was signed on behalf of Ghana by Sam George and by Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chairman of PCFC, representing the UAE.
