A heartbreaking video which is currently circulating on social media captures a young girl receiving serious beatings from a man identified as Atta.
The incident according to the footage took place at Agona Jamasi.
According to the accompanying voice behind the video, it is a daily ritual for the Auntie to mercilessly beat the niece and after that hit her head against the wall.
However, the victim named Nyhira has become used to her auntie’s beatings so she invited a male outsider to inflict hell upon Nhyira.
Also, in the video the auntie is captured at the entrace of the room where the victim is begging for mercy. According the video she was preventing other people who are at the scene from intervening and saving the girl from the hard punishment she is receiving from Atta.
The video has sparked significant public outrage, raising concerns as to how a guardian, entrusted with the safety of a girl-child, could permit an outsider to take the centre stage and brutally assault the victim in that manner.
A concerned resident from the town has called on the Department of Social Welfare and relevant child protection agencies to intervene swiftly and protect Nhyira’s well-being.
Also, the resident pleaded with the father of the victim who resides in Germany to for the child.
As at the time of filling this report, there has not been any official statement from the police.
