The Chief of Kade,Osabarima Agyare Tenadu II, known in private life as William Kwame Apaw, has declared his unwillingness to prolong his reign after 21 years of being in charge, marking a shocking and heartbreaking turn of events at the Kade Palace.

The Palace was thrown into a state of mourning after he made such statements which were delivered only moments before he officially handed over his written statement.

Both men and women among his followers were seen weeping and begging the chief to reverse his decision. Despite all the attacks on his personality over the years, his people still love and respect him very much; some even tried to stop him from leaving.

Osabarima Agyare Tenadu II said in his statement on October 22, 2025, that he wanted to make sure that Kade and Okyeman were united, peaceful, and developed. He acknowledged the trust bestowed upon him by the Aduana family throughout his reign as he expressed his profound gratitude.

During his 21 years as Kadehene, he oversaw several social interventions, community development programs, and infrastructural projects that have impacted the lives of his people. Osabarima Tenadu II has for some time now fought a protracted legal battle to establish his legitimacy with the National House of Chiefs.

The abdication has been characterized by many as significant and unforeseen, prompting discussions regarding the future of Kade Stool and the succession process.
