A mentally unstable man beheaded a 50-year-old man at the Tema Main Harbour Railways area on Friday May 29.
The suspect who is believed to be in his 30s, chopped off the victim’s head. The deceased is said to be a caretaker of a yard in the vicinity.
Ali, the alleged killer, was observed carrying the head in a carrier bag and was promptly apprehended. Following additional inquiries by the Tema Regional Police Command, Ali directed the team to the site of the deceased’s body.
The body has since been sent to the mortuary.
Residents are shocked by the news as there is no concrete evidence at the moment to ascertain the suspect’s action.
Mr. Isaac Adjei, a resident, stated that Ali was formerly one of the guys who carried cargo for trucks at the harbour. However, he has been acting strangely for the past two and a half years, according to Adjei.
