Also, a 9% rise in the national daily minimum wage was successfully approved by the committee. This reflects a slight adjustment of the minimum salary from Ghs19.97 to Ghs21.77.

The Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering a stable economy aimed at alleviating the financial challenges faced by workers. He further assured that the Ministry of Finance and the FWSC will diligently oversee the complete execution of all sanctioned provisions.

Minister for Employment and Labour Relations, Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, commended both parties for the constructive dialogue that resulted in the agreement, characterizing it as a testament to the government’s commitment to economic resilience and labor harmony.

The Chief Executive of the FWSC, Dr George Smith-Graham, applauded the vital contribution of Organised Labour in supporting the government’s initiatives to stabilize the economy during the nation’s recovery phase.
