Saeed, popularly known as Biggie who is a Ghanaian, has been arrested together with his accomplices by Libya’s elite 444 Brigade in a massive operation that led to the rescue of 11 abducted victims.
News outlets report that Libyan security forces have Biggie under surveillance since he is considered one of the most dangerous international criminals active in the country.
The Brigade confirmed in a statement released on Monday, July 1, that one of its units successfully raided a sizable facility that the Ghanaian suspect, Biggie used to house, detain, and exploit his victims.
The facility, which was previously utilized to house foreign migrant laborers, has been turned into a brothel run by internationally recognized criminals where women are captured, detained, and coerced into prostitution during their stay.
The intelligence-driven operation and precise information acquired led to the successful apprehension of the perpetrators. The operation commenced following numerous reports from various international media outlets regarding missing women.
The statement indicates that the successful operation resulted in the release of the kidnapped victims, while the primary suspect, “Biggie,” is currently in custody, assisting Libyan authorities in their investigations and awaiting further legal proceedings.
The brigade reiterated its dedication to disrupting criminal networks in Libya and safeguarding vulnerable populations, especially migrants.
