Mfantsipim School (BOTWE) silenced both Prempeh and Adisadel College in today’s quarterfinals contest of the National Science and Maths Quiz displaying confidence and resilience from the start of the contest to book a place in the semi-finals.

The highly anticipated contest which was scheduled for October 30, had to be postponed to today October due to security breaches at the School Graduate Studies (SGS), University of Cape Coast.

BOTWE took charge of the competition from the start with a commanding lead of 25 points while Prempeh and Adisadel College scored 22 and 15 points, respectively.

In the Second round of the contest, which is the Speed Race both Adisadel and Prempeh College could not grab a point. However, Mfantsipim School maintained their dominance and extended their lead with 41 points.

The third round which sought to test the cognitive ability of the participants tilted the contest in favour of Adisadel College after they managed to add 6 out of 10 points to their marks. Prempeh grappled with 2 points. Meanwhile, BOTWE had 4 points but they were still in a comfortable lead with 45 points.

By the end of round 4, it became obvious BOTWE was going to make an impact after they streched their lead with 61 points while Prempeh and Adisadel College trailed behind with 40 and 31 points.

During the fifth and final round of the GOIL Super Bonanza, the auditorium was charged with suspense as all three schools listened intently to the riddles.

Mfantsipim School got one riddle correct adding 3 points to make it 64 points in total. ADISCO sensing defeat on their part, took control of the 5th round by answering the next three riddles correctly. They matched Prempeh point for point and by the end of the competition both Prempeh and Adisadel College have scored 40 points each.

It ended in joy for BOTWE aa they emerged winners of contest with 64. While ADISCO and Prempeh College both had 40 points.

Mfantsipim School’s decisive victory secured their advancement to the semi-finals of NSMQ 2025, keeping alive their hope of defending the title and potentially achieve a record-extending trophy win.
