Pope John Senior High and Minor Seminary has qualified for the semi-final stage of the 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz after making Mpraeso SHS and Swedru Secondary School useless in the quarterfinals.

Pope John Senior High and Minor Seminary has qualified for the semi-final stage of the 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz after eliminating Mpraeso SHS and Swedru Secondary School in the quarterfinals.

Starting on a good note, the yellow and blue boys took the lead with 15 points in the 1st round of the contest which took place at the School of Graduate Studies (SGS) Auditorium, University of Cape. Mpraeso SHS had 7 points while Swedru Sec. School polled 3 points.

The POJOBA Boys increased their lead in the Trustur AI Speed Race by accumulating 9 points, bringing their total to 24 points. Mpraeso SHS was able to increase their total from 7 to 8 points when the second round ended. Swedru Sec. Sch. confidently maintained their 3-points.

Building their confidence in the third round saw Mpraeso SHS missing just a point in the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star (Problem of the Day) race, raising their total to 17 points. Pope John SHS braced themselves with 7 out of the 10 points while Swedru Sec. Sch. managed to score 5 points.

The Koftown boys (Pope Johns) concealed their victory in the True/False round by extending their lead to 47 points while Mpraeso and Swedru SHS earned 27 points and 18 points respectively.

By the end of the competition, Pope John SHS & Minor Seminary won the contest with 53 making their entry into the semi-finals a smooth one. Meanwhile, Mpraeso and Swedru SHS managed to score 30 and 21 points.
