
The Yellow and Blue boys were favourites at the ongoing one-eight contest of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) which saw them beating Ghana SHS, Tamale and Awudome SHS.
After exiting the quarterfinals stage in last year’s Natioanl Science and Maths Quiz, the Koftown boys were resolute in proving their worth in this year’s competition the battle with a commendable lead of 20 points in the first round.
Pope Johns Senior High School and Minor Seminary extended their lead in the 2nd round with 40 points. Ghana Shs, Tamale trailed behind the Dasebre boys with 14 points while Awudome had 11 points.
In the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star Problem of the Day”, Ghana SHS managed to earn 4 out of 10 points after partially answering the questions. Pope Johns and Awudome SHS struggled to secure only 2 points each.
Prior to the “JuPay Money Transfer True/False” round, Awudome SHS and Pope John SHS implemented strategic substitutions. They earned the admiration of many after answering the majority of questions accurately, receiving enthusiastic applause from their supporters.
At the end of the round, Pope John SHS was in the lead with 52 points, while Ghana SHS, Tamale, followed with 25 points, and Awudome SHS secured 20 points.
Pope Johns SHS proved they did not come to play in the “GOIL Riddle Bonanza” after getting 2 out of the 3 riddles right, resulting in them scoring 58 points. Ghana ShS, Tamale and Awudome SHS at the end of the competition had 25 and 23 points respectively.
