
The Western North Regional Police Command has apprehended five (5) individuals suspected of engaging in a series of armed robbery incidents in Sefwi Bekwai and surrounding areas.
The individuals under suspicion are Iddrisu Abdalla, aged 20; Abdul Rahaman Abubakar, aged 21; Okasha Mohammed, aged 19; Toffic Bawa, aged 24; and Richard Gyapong, aged 35.
They were arrested following a surveillance operation guided by intelligence in Sefwi Bekwai and surrounding areas, where officers successfully intercepted three suspects on an unregistered motorbike.
Upon arriving at the Mpesiem Police snap checkpoint, the suspects did not comply with the stop signal, leading to a pursuit and subsequent arrest.
A search carried out at their residences led to the discovery of a backpack filled with various talismans, a face mask, and finger rings, which are believed to be utilized in their operations.
The five suspects have been linked to many robbery incidents in the Bekwai area of the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality.
All identified suspects are presently in police custody, contributing to the ongoing investigation.
