The Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service has taken into custody the landlord captured in a video beating his wife while she was naked.
Per our earlier report, the man identified as John Odartey Lamptey, was seriously assaulting his wife in an open space where people who were passing by could see.
The incident is believed to have taken place at Ofankor, in the Ga Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
According to a statement from the police, Grace Kushie Lamptey and Louis Odartey Lamptey, siblings of the accused, have also been arrested for allegedly trying to assault a tenant they suspect recorded the incident and shared it online.
“Following his arrest, two of his siblings, Grace Kushie Lamptey and Louis Odartey Lamptey, who attempted to attack a female tenant they suspected of recording and circulating the video, were also arrested, and the tenant rescued to ensure her safety”, a portion of the statement read.
The Police are finding ways to locate the assaulted wife who fled the house after the incident.
“Efforts are underway to locate and ensure the safety of the wife who had fled the scene before the Police arrived”.
