What started as a verbal exchange escalated into a violent confrontation resulting in the death of a 52-year-old Monica Akua Fokua at Asokore Mampong in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
The brother of the deceased, Asamoah Kusi, narrated that the incident happened on August 31 when a misunderstanding broke out between the deceased and the suspect, Osam Afriyie.
Although the fight was broken up, Afriyie later ambushed Monica Akua Fokua and threw a pavement block at her, striking her in the ear area.
Monica is said to have fallen down and gone unconscious. She was then rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead at the facility.
Despite receiving support from tenants and the deceased, Afriyie has fought almost everybody in the house.
It is alleged that she also threatened the deceased’s brother with death if he dared to try to evict her.
She has since been arrested by the Asokore Mampong Police. Authorities are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, as tensions are high.
