A disturbing video making rounds on social media has captured a landlord, John Odartey Lamptey, who is seriously beating his wife while she is undressed.
The incident is,believedto have taken place at Ofankor in the Ga Municipality of the GreaterAccraRegion. However, the video was taken today, Monday 17th November, 2025.
Per the video, the tenant alleged Odartey Lamptey actually beats her wife everyday as he was seen in the video with two heavy sticks hitting his wife mercilessly and stamping her chest as she desperately pleads for mercy while trying to grasp the sticks.
The beating was carried out in the open compound where people passing by can vividly see what is happening but as to why no one is trying to intervene is a question for another day
This raises serious concerns about domestic abuse in the house while some netizens have expressed anger towards the Landlord captured in the video.
Ed Lamptey wrote on X: “My comments and mine alone:
1. Why share the video of her nakedness, it violates our laws. You could have edited to cover her face and nakedness, the message would still be sent
2. By your claim it happens almost everyday so why is this woman still there. Is she waiting to be killed?
3. Where is the woman’s family, can’t they come for their loved one?
4. Since this has gone on for long this man needs to be arrested ASAP for domestic violence and must be jailed to serve as a deterrent to animalistic men out there.
5. You need to start looking for a new apartment since your eviction from the house is inevitable but make sure you’re protected from any form of violence from your landlord so I advice you go and report the incident to the Police.
6. Tag any of the lawyers on X and see how this woman can be helped.
7. Kindly share your location with key family members because this beast of a man “may” target you.
