Zoomlion Ghana Limited has revealed that the firm is prepared to participate in any forthcoming sanitation contract through the competitive bidding process, a statement from the sanitation company has revealed after its contract with the Youth and Employment Agency expired.

“ We are well prepared and eager to actively participate in any forthcoming competitive procurement processes.”

According to Zoomlion Ghana Limited, the firm has a track record of operational competence and they have the requisite tools to deliver even better services under new contract models.

“Our extensive and long-standing track record of technical and operational competence, commitment to innovation, and unparalleled nationwide reach position us strongly to compete effectively and deliver even better services under new contract models”, the statement read.

The company endorses the government’s decision to raise the wages of sweepers and frontline workers, affirming its commitment to adhere to any proposed reforms while highlighting the significance of its workforce and pledging equitable compensation for its sanitation personnel.

“Zoomlion commends the government’s stated objective of improving the remuneration of sweepers and frontline sanitation workers as part of ongoing sector reforms”.

The company gave clarity to the ongoing termination debate concerning their contract with YEA. The statement indicates that their contract with the government was not terminated; instead, it has simply expired, and the present administration has opted not to extend it.

The contract, originally set to expire in March 2024, was extended by the previous government for six months, establishing a new expiration date of September 2024.
