An officer of the Electoral Commission (EC) has been apprehended by the Ghana Police in the Bono East Region for tearing off  Dr. Mahmudu Bawumia from 15 presidential ballot papers.

An officer of the Electoral Commission (EC) has been apprehended by the Ghana Police in the Bono East Region for tearing off  Dr. Mahmudu Bawumia from 15 presidential ballot papers.

The officer tore the image of the presidential candidate along with his party symbol while giving out ballot papers to voters.

Dery according to report was intentional to rig the elections.

The incident happened at the Ampesika Bayere polling station in the Kintampo South constituency of the Bono East Region.

Joseph Dery is currently assisting the police in investigation to ascertain the motive behind his actions and to face the law if found guilty.

Voting has been suspended at the said polling station as the Electoral Commission is making ammends for the votong process to continue.
