
St. Peter’s Senior High School has booked a slot in the semi-finals stage after a sterling performance against Mawuli School and University Practice SHS in the National Science and Maths Quiz competition.
The first round started with questions that proved challenging for the contestants but their supporters kept hope alive and cheered them on. As the first round came to an end, St. Peter’s SHS took the lead with 13 points while University Practice SHS followed closely with 12 points. Mawuli School, still finding their feet in the contest could manage nine points.
St. Peter’s SHS was still in a comfortable lead in the second round of the competition with 20 points while University Practice SHS kept building their confidence by accumulating 17 points. Meanwhile, Mawuli School earned a single point to reach 10 points.
Before round three began, Mawuli School made a substitution by bringing in Senyo hoping to salvage the situation which in a way proved timely. However, by the end of the round, St. Peter’s SHS had scored 28 points while University Practice SHS had polled 25 points. Mawuli School were able to add six points.
In the True/False round, St. Peter’s SHS had actually proven to be hard nut to crack by adding 13 points while University Practice SHS and Mawuli School scored 35 and 23 points, respectively
As the contest came to a successful end, the all boys-school were crowned winners with 45 points. University Practice SHS had 41 points while Mawuli School scored 23 points.
St. Peter’s School was awarded GH₵1,800 from Momo Money Zone in addition to getting GH₵500 for completing one of the riddles. Despite their aspirations of advancing to the semi-finals was being thwarted, University Practice earned GH₵1,640 from Momo Money Zone and GH₵1,000 for solving two riddles in the GOIL Super Bonanza. A total of GH₵920 was also awarded to Mawuli School from Momo Money Zone.
