Member of Parliament for Pusiga, Ayamba Ayii Laadi, has attributed the deaths of 6 females who died as a result of a stampede at the El-Wak stadium during the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) recruitment exercise on November 12 to the will of Allah.
Laadi stated, “We should all find comfort in the almighty Allah.” All events occur at the appropriate time. This is what has been ordained for them by Allah. Today happens to be their day”.
According to her, there is no human intervention that could have saved them today even if all the presidents in the world are brought together to play different roles in the recruitment exercise.
She emphasized that the loss of such valuable lives was not the result of any orchestration by anyone or spiritual entities, contrary to the rumors that often arise after such incidents occur.
He further stated that not a single officer present desired for even one individual to die.
The Ghana Armed Forces have verified the occurrence of six fatalities resulting from the stampede, and it has been reported that 28 individuals were subsequently transported to the 37 Military Hospital for medical attention.
Among those, five are currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), while 12 continue to be in a state of critical condition. Preliminary reports suggested 12 fatalities due to confusion at the stadium. However, official statistics revealed that 6 people had died.
