A tragic incident has left residents of Wassa Adansi in the Wassa Amenfi East Municipal District of the Western Region into mourning, following the alleged murder of an elderly woman by her 18-year-old grandson, Yaw Brakoh, known as “2 Cedis.”

A tragic incident has left residents of Wassa Adansi in the Wassa Amenfi East Municipal District of the Western Region into mourning, following the alleged murder of an elderly woman by her 18-year-old grandson, Yaw Brakoh, known as “2 Cedis.”

Reports indicate that the horrific incident took place at the victim’s residence and the reason for his action is yet to be revealed by authorities.

Community members promptly mobilized themselves and successfully apprehended him, subsequently handing him to the Wassa Akropong Police Patrol Team.

However, if not for the swift intervention by Police officers, he would have been lynched by enraged mob who manhandled him before he was whisked away.

The suspect was subsequently sent to the hospital under police supervision following injuries sustained during the attack.

Some residents have raised concerns about the possibility of drug abuse, although police have not verified these claims. Investigations are still in progress to determine the complete context of the incident.
