
Central University has announced its collaboration with the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) following the arrest of five students for their suspected roles in the production and distribution of cannabis and cannabis-infused products on campus.
In a statement dated June 19, 2026, the university said it first became aware of the incident after reports surfaced in the media. The school noted that the arrests are linked to activities that allegedly took place during Students’ Representative Council (SRC) Week celebrations.
According to the university’s Registrar, the administration is presently in the process of engaging NACOC and other relevant authorities to ascertain the facts and confirm the events that transpired.

Five Students Arrested Over Alleged Cannabis-Infused Products
The five suspects, allegedly enrolled in Levels 100, 300, and 400, were apprehended following intelligence reports indicating potential drug-related activities within the university community.
Initial inquiries indicate that the students were reportedly engaged in the production and distribution of cannabis-infused products, including ice cream, sobolo, toffees, pepper, and eggs. They are additionally charged with engaging in the trade of unprocessed cannabis.
Authorities reportedly recovered several suspected substances during the operation. The items have since been seized and sent for forensic analysis.
University Suspends SRC Week Activities
